Teaching Procedures:

Step I: Warming up

Let the students work together and tell a funny story.

(The purpose of this step is to increase the students’ interest and know how to write a story.)

Step 2 Revising and leading in·

According to the pictures , let the students talk about what they have learned about Goldilocks? And then ask them “What happened next?”

Step3 Presentation

I. Before reading

First, ask the Ss to read the four possible next events given. Elicit some more from the Ss, and note them on the board. Then, pair the Ss to decide what they think happened. Finally, elicit the suggestions from the class and accept anything they give.

II. While reading: Scanning and Skimming

Task 1: Read the passage and number the pictures in the correct order.

Directions: First, ask the Ss to look at the picture(a) first and let the Ss talk about what happened.( The three bears returned from their walk.) Then, Ss read the passage and number the other 4 pictures. Finally, call back the answers from the whole class, having individuals read out the answers

Task 2: Read the passage and match the each paragraph with “Before the three bears returned” and “After the three bears returned”.

Task 3: Read Para.1-2, and tell T or F.

1. Goldilocks liked the middle chair.

2. Goldilocks walked into the bedroom.

3. Goldilocks didn’t like the small bed.

Task 4: Read Para.3-5, and answer the questions.

1. Why did Baby Bear cry?

2.What did Goldilocks do when she saw the three bears?

3.Did Goldilocks go for a walk in the forest again?

III. After reading

Task1.Let the Ss retell the whole story according to the pictures.

Task2.Groupwork: Ask the Ss to work in groups and act the story out. First, the group members help each other and retell the story together. Then, one retells and the other four act it out.

After acting, ask the Ss the 2 questions: 1.Do you like Goldilocks?
