Part 3 Teaching aims
Based on the new standard curriculum and the syllabus,?the learning objectives are listed as follows.
Knowledge objectives:
—To master the key words and phrases (New words: well, active, daily, weak, exercise, pet)
—To understand some difficult sentences to comprehend the passage better. (1.I have had him for three months now and I feel really healthy.2. Since then, it has become part of my life.)
Skills objectives: At the end of this lesson, students will:
—Read and understand passages about health routines, and can talk about their own health routines.
— Be able to write about health problems and give health advice to their friends or families.
Moral aims: by the end of the lesson, students will:
—Understand the importance of exercise in healthy living.
—Be aware of their own unhealthy habits such as: playing too much computer games, and not enough daily exercise.
—Develop a healthy living habit and do more exercise every day.
Part 4 Key and difficult points
It can be difficult for students to
1: To use the new words and phrases correctly and skillfully.
2: To get an overall understanding of the whole text.
3: To retell the passage in a certain order.
4: To write down their own stories and give health advice to others
Part 5 Teaching and learning methods
In my lesson, the follow methods will be used: PWP, task-based approach.
Part 6 Teaching aids:
I will use the multimedia to increase the teaching capacity and improve the teaching efficiency.
Part 7 Teaching procedures
The teaching procedures consist of six steps.
Step 1 Warm up & Lead in
1. Listening to a song about exercise
2. Watch pictures and talk about healthy and unhealthy activities.
3. Ask and answer some questions:(1) What did you do last weekend? (2)Did you do something healthy, or unhealthy?
(Purpose: After these two questions, students can associate the language to their own lives, which makes learning more efficient and create a real context for them to use the language not only to express ideas but also to think.)
Step 2 Fast reading
