Step1. Pre-reading

1. Let’s sing: T& Ss sing the song: Days of the week

2. Let’s play: T& Ss play a game and review the words: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

3. Free talk: ---- What do you have on Mondays?

---- I have Chinese, English, maths and music.·

【设计意图:Let's sing既活跃了气氛又揭示了本课主题;课前的free talk环节为学生搭设了自我展示的舞台,并有效操练、巩固了旧知(sentence pattern: What do you have on ...? I have ...),为接下来的故事教学作好了铺垫。】

Step2. While reading

1. T shows a picture of Zip & Zoom. Then, T leads Ss to enjoy the pictures and guess what happens next.

【设计意图:用图片引出故事的主人公,激发学生观察图片的兴趣。】

2. T asks a question about the topic of the story and plays the cartoon of the story. Then Ss watch the cartoon and answer the question.

【设计意图:让学生带着问题去观看故事和猜测故事走向,可以使他们的注意力高度集中,阅读的效果更好。】

With some questions and the guidance of T, Ss get the general idea of the story.

4. Listen& number: T shows the pictures of this story. Ss listen to the tape and number the pictures in order.

5. Let’s imitate: T shows the cartoon again, Ss read after it and imitate the pronunciation.

【设计意图:有感情的朗读课文,模仿角色的语音语调,体会角色的心理感受,引导学生进一步欣赏故事。】

Step3. Post-reading

1. Let’s retell: With the help of the cards on the blackboard, T& Ss retell the story together.

2. Let’s act: T invites Ss to work in pairs and act the story out.
