Such as: Save China’s Tigers, Project Hope, Project Green Hope, Spring Bud Project, ORBIS, WWF, Oxfam, UNICEF

Step2 Presentation

Finish Part A on P93. Check the answers. Then ask and answer the questions: What does …work? / How does …help people?

Listen to the comic strip and answer the following questions:①What is needed for charity? ②What does Eddie want to do first? Why?

Then read the conversation together.

Point out the language points: ①被动语态 is needed ②left“剩下的”③too…to…太……而不能……

Step3 Group Work &Practice

Read the conversation in Part B. Answer the question: How does UNICEF help people?

Read after the tape of Part B and pay attention to your pronunciation of the proper nouns.

Work in pairs. Use the following clues and talk about the charity you have heard about. Use the following conversation as a model:

- Do you know about any international charities?

- Yes, I know about a charity called …

- How does … help people?

-It helps/provides/works …

4. Act out the conversation.
