Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Greet the whole class as usual.

Step 2 Lead in

Review the key language structures: What is this? What are these? What color is it/are they? How many.....

Review numbers and the usage of numbers: count things, express prices

Different kinds of money and their signals: RMB, Euro, Dollar, Pound. (Ask students to pay attention to the way of writing a price tag.)

Step 3 Presentation

Show the pictures of the clothes with price tags in different colors on the screen using the question: What is this? / What are these? What color is it/are they? How much is it/ are they?

Use this way to talk about the new words in this part: hat,T-shirt, sweater, bag jacket, skirt, socks, trousers, shoes, shorts (present the things usually with singular form and then the things usually with plural forms.)

Step 4 Practice

1. Pair work: ask students to talk about the things, their prices and colors using the target language for three minutes.

2. Invite some pairs to act their conversations out.

3. Present all the clothes on the screen and practice the target language again. Emphasize the singular and plural forms.

4. Act out on the stage. First, the teacher invites a student to do it as an example, then ask others to do the same.

Step 5 Presentation

Show some clothes with different sizes to teach the new words “big, small, long, short”

Present the target language “How much are the long socks?” “How much is the small T-shirt?”. Let them get to know where the adjectives should be.

Ask students to talk about the clothes using the target language.

Step 7 Listening

Match the words with the things in the picture, then check quickly.

Listen and circle the things you hear in the picture in 1c, then check quickly.

Listen and repeat the words after the tape.

Look at the things in the picture and talk about them with the teacher: In the first picture, there are three hats. The small one is black, the big one is purple. Talk about the other pictures in this way.

Listen to the conversations and circle the things you hear, then check quickly.

Listen again and fill in the price tags.(Before listening, tell them how to write a price tag: $10 ¥10),then check the answers together.
