3. 通过阅读幻想小说提高素养，愉悦自我，拓宽知识面，提高文学素养
教学重难点：
教学重点：培养学生的阅读能力；熟练掌握与动作有关的词汇和短语
教学难点：词汇难度较大，阅读较为困难
教学过程：
Step 1 Lead in
T:do you like watching movies or reading novels in your spare time? What kind of novels do you prefer？let’s see some posters of some novels. What do they have in common? They are fantasy novels. I will introduce you a very famous fantasy author“His Dark Material”
设计目的：做好阅读前的导入工作，激活学生的学习兴趣。通过问题引出菲利普·普尔曼和他的幻想小说《黑暗物质三部曲》，为本节课的学习铺设了一个前奏和背景。
Step 2 Fast reading
1) T: “The cat that vanished ”means the cat disappeared all of a sudden. So where could the cat be? So please read the passage quickly and find the main idea for each part.
阅读指导：There are some words in the passage which are above your present level of English. Try not to worry if you don’t understand every word of the passage. This is how most people read literary passage.
Part1(para.1-2) What Will saw and how he felt after entering another world.
Part2(para.3-7) Will saw a cat, who showed affection for him.
Part3(para.8-12) Will found the access to another world and scrambled through
without hesitation.
Part4(para.13-15) The cat behaved strangely and vanished.
设计目的：首先给学生阅读文学作品的学习方法指导。在阅读中遇到很多新的单词怎么办？指导学生克服畏惧的心理，抓住文章的主题意思。让学生阅读文章，并找到每一段的段落大意。这是训练学生的阅读技能---略读，掌握文章的大意梗概，了解故事发展的概要。

(1) read part 1 and answer the two questions.
