II. Teaching procedures:

Step I. Lead-in

----Do you find anything special in our class today ?

----I find....

Step II. Practice

Motivate the students to express the definition of object complement by observing the given sentences.

Step III. Presentation

Task: Present some typical pictures including my baby; our headmaster; our hometown and our President Xi to the students to stimulate them to practice the object complement.

Step IV. Grammar

Practice: translate and make similar sentences using object complement:“consider sb to be sth”, “enable sb. to do sth.”, and “make sb. do sth.”.

Consolidation:

(Summarize 5 parts that can be used as object complement.

(Encourage the students to the front to write down as many verbs as they can which can be used in the form of “ V+ O+C”.

(Give the students 4 minutes to finish the quiz.

Step V. Conclusion

Encourage the students to draw a conclusion about what we have learned today.

Step = 6 ﹨ ROMAN ﹨ MERGEFORMAT VI . Debate

Prepare viewpoints in groups for 3 minutes.

Debate using object complement.

Write down key viewpoints on a prepared paper.

Step = 7 ﹨ ROMAN ﹨ MERGEFORMAT VII . Writing

Write down your viewpoints on whether we should replace the historical statue.

1) Practice: write your viewpoints down in 5 minutes.

2) Feedback: present your composition and read it out.
