1.Step One Lead-in
A.Lead the students to read the new words,and ask students to finish Exercise D.
B.Ask students if they feel happy and why
2.Step Two Reading strategy
Draw students’ attention to the reading strategy of the unit, and make sure that students understand the meaning of it.
3.Step Three Fast reading
Have students go through the passage as quickly as possible and try to find answers to the three questions in Part A.
4.Step Four Fast reading
A. Listen to the tape carefully ,and try to comprehend the details of the interview .
B. Read the article again, and have students finish Exercise C2 in groups.
C. After finishing Exercise C1, ask students several questions:
1. How old was she when she competed at the New York Goodwill Games?
2. Why was she happy to devote herself to gymnastics ?
3. What happened to her at the Goodwill Games?
4. How was she after the accident?
