Teaching procedures
Step 1 Greetings
Greet the whole class as usual.
Step 2 Lead-in
Show students some pictures and guess the meaning of each picture. After that, answer the questions below:
What are they trying to tell us?
How do you know that?
Ask students to summarize the definition of body language.
Step 3 Pair work
Ask students to discuss the following questions and give them several examples to show people in different countries have different ways when they meet each other. And then guide them to know the importance of body language in different cultures.
1.What do you think the role of body language in our daily life?
2.Are all the body language the same in the world?
Step 4 Group work
Ask 3 students respectively to perform without speaking according to the pictures in PPT, at the same time, other students will guess what’s happening according to their performance. This part is aiming to let students to experience the charm of body language.
Step 5 Speaking
Students are asked to figure out what is wrong in a given situation, and they can discuss and share their ideas with each other. The teacher give students an example and they can finish the communication.
