“I Have Seen Amazing Things”为人教版高中英语Module 5 Unit 3 Life in the future的第二篇reading。本单元的中心话题是“Life in the Future”，教材内容为学生提供了丰富的想象空间，让学生大胆发挥想象，对人类今后的生活环境，生活方式进行猜测，并在此基础上，对人类的种种活动进行反思，提倡环保意识。语言技能与语言知识主要围绕“未来生活”这一中心话题进行设计。语法则是继续第一篇reading的内容，让学生进一步巩固过去分词作定语和作状语的不同用法。通过对现实生活与未来生活的对比，唤醒学生把握现在，展望未来，爱护环境的意识。

“I Have Seen Amazing Things”主要记叙了主人公李强在导游的带领下到太空站中参观了一些31世纪的最前沿发明。李强被这些新奇的高科技产品所吸引，并由此对未来生活充满向往与憧憬。本篇阅读文章是科幻型阅读，涵盖了多项语言基本技能，旨在唤起学生的想象力，培养学生对未来生活的预测能力。 教师在讲解的过程中可以将本文根据空间顺序分成三个部分，分别是Communication, Waste Disposal, Manufacturing。读和讨论部分要求学生首先通过阅读“I Have Seen Amazing Things”一文，填写海报，向人们介绍一些只有在31世纪的太空站才能看到的发明。为了提高学生的阅读理解能力，教师可以利用本篇课文，教学生一些阅读技巧，比如寻读，跳读，细读。本课时属于“Reading and discussing”类型，教师应该引导学生“读说结合，以读促说”，最后再“以读说促写”，采用“任务型”教学途径，培养学生综合语言运用能力。本课时在整个单元教学中占有相当重要的地位。这是对新课标目标中情感态度与价值观培养目标的全方位体现。

(2) The can be aware of the importance of protecting the environment

(1) The students can predict what the text is about by referring to the title, pictures and prior knowledge.

(2) The students can guess the meanings of the new words and expressions in the text.

5.Cultural awareness objectives：

(1) The students can be aware that where there is imagination, there is motivation

(2) The students look forward to the future life after reading this passage

四、教学重点、难点分析

（一）教学重点：

1．掌握有关描绘未来新发明的词汇、词组以及句型。

2．通过对文章的学习，根据目前的现状预测和描述未来的生活。

3. 学习本课的写作手法：能从事物的多个方面对事物进行客观具体的描述，分点陈述。运用具体知识按照一定顺序描述生物或物体。

1．提高阅读能力，如略读、细读、归纳主旨大意、猜测词义的能力等。
