The topic of this unit is about weather which is closely related to the students’ daily life and the grammar in this unit is not difficult.Before this unit, students have learned the present continuous tense, which laid the foundation of learning this unit.

= 3 \* ROMAN \* MERGEFORMAT III . Key points and difficult points.

1.Key points:

1)words and sentence structures:

rain, windy, cloudy, sunny, snow, weather

——How is the weather?

——It’s….

2)difficult points: The city names in the listening part.

The expression used on the phone.

= 4 \* ROMAN \* MERGEFORMAT IV .Teaching procedure:

Introduction:

1) Show the meaning of “rain” in the title by its sound.

2)Let students observe the pictures on page 23 to guess what Unit7 is about and show the sentence “How is the weather?” by asking “ How can we ask ‘weather’?”

2. Words learning:

1) Show a song “How is the weather?” and ask students to find some words about weather.

2) Ask students in each group to recall some words.

3)Draw pictures on the blackboard to show “sun, wind, cloud, rain and snow”, then lead them to read them three times.

4) Point each picture and ask “How is the weather?” and lead them to answer “It’s sunny/ windy/ cloudy/raining/snowing.” Lead them to read the adjectives three times.

5) Let students to observe how to change the nouns into the adjectives and summarize the rules.

6) Team competition: read the words first, then recite them quickly and then write them down on the blackboard. The group which gets the highest grades will win.

8) Guessing game and oral-speaking training.
