Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Leading - in

Play a song called “The more we get together, the happier we’ll be.” Then ask the students the name of the song, write the name on the blackboard .Point out” the more, the happier “, and tell students the contents we’ll review today.

Step 2 Presentation

1. Ask students how to change the adjectives or adverbs into their comparatives and superlatives, then ask individual students to make a summary.

2. show the rules of the regulars and the irregulars.

Step 3 The usage of the adjectives or adverbs itself

1. Present some choice exercises that have appeared in the past exams and ask the students to choose the right answers. Write the students’ answers on the blackboard and the teacher doesn’t tell them if they are right or wrong.

2. Let students discuss the sentences structures about the adjectives or adverbs itself they have learned before, then make a list.

3. Ask a few students to read out their lists. And the others add.

4. The teacher show the sentences structures.

5. Make students do some exercises to check.

Step 4 The usage of the comparative degree of adjectives or adverbs

1. Repeat the similar procedures in Step 3

2. Note the attentions .

Step 5 The usage of the superlative degree of adjectives or adverbs

Repeat the similar procedures in Step 3

Step 6 Exercises

1. Solve the problems the teacher offered in Step 3.

2. Do some other exercises.

3. Show some proverbs and sayings about the comparative degrees and superlative degrees of adjectives and adverbs and encourage students to study harder and get more.

Step 7 Homework

1. Ask students to finish the rest exercises on the screen.
