Step 1 Revision and Warming-up

Step 3 Pre-reading

A.Free talk. Talk about what robots may look like in the future.

B.Predict the main idea of the passage according to the title.

(设计意图:The tasks can help the students master and understand the passage better.)

Step 4 While-reading

A.Skim and match the general idea of each paragraph.

B.Careful reading

a.Read each paragraph and finish some tasks.

b.Form the Mind-map of the whole passage.

(设计意图:Give them certain reading skills, enable them to have a better understand about the text. Task-based teaching method is used here to train and improve students’ ability of reading skills.)

Step 5 Post-reading

Retell the whole passage by the Mind-map on the Blackboard.

(设计意图:If students can finish the task well, they must benefit a lot in their spoken English.)

Step 6 Drill and Extension

Invent their own robot and write it down.
