Step 1 Warm up and lead--in:

1.Greeting

2.Flash memory training.

T: Speak out quickly and try your best to remember what you see.

3.Can you remember the phrases.

Let student say the phrases.

T: Yang Liwei flew into space in Shenzhou V. He spent about 21 hours. He made a vedio .When he came back to the earth, he met his family at the airport.

Now he is a role model for Chinese people.

Teach “role model”

4.Watch a video about Helen Keller.

Today, let me introduce another “role model”----Helen Keller. She was blind and deaf. She rely on sign language and lip reading to understand the others. She wrote a book about herself-----Three Days To See

(设计意图:通过闪式记忆训练,复习单元一的过去式及课文内容。并通过杨利伟的事迹导出role model 这个词,然后由role model 导出Helen Keller。观看纪录片海伦凯勒简介的视频,引入课文的热身chant.)
