(2)正确地读出本课的著名建筑物的名词。

Ⅲ. Learning strategies

(1)利用构词法学习新词汇。如:northwest, northeast, southeast, chairman, meaningful等。

(2)在进行听力任务时,要学会使用关键词来提醒自己,然后利用关键词去完成任务。

(3)在进行听力填空时,遇到难点的词汇,要及时写下前两个或前三个字母,听完了再补充完整。

V. Teaching procedures

Stage 1: Lead-in

Step1

The teacher introduces her traveling frog, David, to her students. The traveling frog sends many beautiful pictures to her, which shows many famous buildings in Beijing. The teacher asks students if they want to see the pictures.

Step2

The teacher shows 5 pictures to the students, which include Monument to the People’s Heroes, Tian’anmen Rostrum, Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, Great Hall of the People and National Museum. Meanwhile, students learn these pharses.

Step3

Students fill in some blanks of the phrases. Then they read them together. After that, they match the names of the buildings with the pictures in 3a.

Stage 2: Learning the Directions

Step1

The frog wants the teacher to guess where he is. The teacher asks the students for help. So students learn the words of direction, such as north, south, southwest, etc.. After learning these words, students do a quick answer.
