本部分是由季节话题衍生出一系列子话题,如How many months are there in each season? What’s the weather like in each season? What activities can people do in each season?教师引导学生由问答的顺序连词成句,组句成篇,最终能将语言片段连贯起来进行简单描述。

二、课前准备

教师准备音频或电脑,Listen, write and read部分的音频文件。在课上相应环节给学生播放音频材料。

三、教学步骤与建议

1. 热身/复习(Warm-up / Revision)

教师通过播放月份歌曲,让学生在欢快的节奏中感受英语单词的韵律,通过歌曲的演唱,为下面的学习环节热身与铺垫。

2. 呈现学习任务(Presentation )

1) Task 9: Think, write and read.

在书写12个月份单词方面,对于个别相对较长的月份单词,如January, September, November等应总结规律单词结尾是-uary和-mber,帮助学生记忆。

在学生完成十二个月份的填写后,教师组织学生分角色朗读句子,如,男生说January,女生说is the first month of the year,然后互换。

2) Task 10: Let’s do an interview.

Step 1:教师将学生分为6组,每组负责两个月份。每组当中选出一名较好的学生担任采访者,一名学生做记录员,一名学生做汇报者,其余学生做被采访者。

Step 2:在小组内,采访者负责提问,如What holidays are there in January?其余学生根据自身已有知识可分别作答,如New Year’s Day,记录员负责记录。根据学生回答的节日, 采访者继续发问:What do people usually do on New Year Eve? 记录员记下人们在节日中开展的活动,如 Counting down, Having party with friends, Hugging and kissing family members 等。

Step 3:记录员负责整理好信息,交给汇报员,汇报员在教师的带领下进行小组汇报,如:On New Year’s Eve, people usually have party with friends,singing and dancing and counting down when the New Year is coming.…

3) Task 11: Listen, write and read.

(1) 听前预测。通过文中所示Gao Wei和Kate的对话Hi, Kate! Let’s talk about the seasons.可以猜测出对话是关于季节的。教师再根据话题内容,通过问答的方式引导学生说一说相关信息,如:How many seasons are there in a year? (Four) What are they? (They are summer, winter, spring, autumn.) Which season come first? (Spring.) Which season is the hottest and which one is the coldest? (Summer and winter.)等,学生对即将听到的内容有了整体感知,帮助学生树立语篇意识。

(2) 听力方法引导。第一遍只听,在大脑中形成大致印象;第二遍边听边记,尽量完成上一个空的填写;第三遍完整对话内容,学生修改和完善对话。

(3) 听后检查与表演。学生自己读短文。读完后,学生两人一组进行角色扮演,最终进行对话展示。

4) Task 12: Read, write and talk.

教师提问,学生针对话题发言,通过思考参与讨论,听取发言从而获得相关信息,为填写表格做好准备。学生默读问题,带着问题及课前的讨论结果完成表格内容。表格填完后,教学生根据填内容,介绍与季节相关的信息。教师出示范例,如:Summer is the hottest season of the year. It lasts for three months, from July to September. People like going swimming and drifting. Of course, ice cream is the favorite food people enjoy in summer.等。教师邀请学生进行个人展示。

3. 语言运用(Language use)

本节课集中练习了月份、季节与节日。教师给学生提供一个整理思维的空间,让学生们回顾一年四季当中要经历哪些节日。请同学们选择自己最喜欢的节日,进行交流语言支持如下:

S1: Hi, Peter. What's your favourite month in a year?

S2: I like June.

S1: Why?

S2: You know. Children、Day U in June.

S1: Oh! Yes! I just forgot it.

S2: on Children’s Day, we can have a day off. And my parents will lake me to the theme park. I love the theme park so much. What about you?
