let’s play a guessing game: Say it many, they are so many, each person has one in our country; Say it few, they are so few, only twelve in our country.

The answer is__(twelve year animals)

Step 2 : fast-reading(Presentation)

listen to the video carefully and think about a question: 1. Who is the main character人物?

(The twelve year animals, the king and the king’s daughter )

Step3 careful-reading

Listen to the story again to find more details. Underline the key words or key sentences. And think about the following questions:

1.Why did the animals quarrel when the old year was coming to an end?

(Each animal wanted the year named after him)

2.Who came up with a method to decide the order?

(The king’s wise daughter)

3.what method did the king’s daughter come up with?

(They had a swimming race across the river. The New Year will be named after by the winner.)

4.In the beginning, who was the first?

(The ox was the first.)

5. in the end ,which animal was the first? How did he get the first?

(The rat got the first. He climbed up the ox’s back and jumped onto the grass.)

6.What is the order of the year animals? Let’s order.
