Step1 Revision

1. Students retell the advantages of riding bikes in Section A.

2.Do some exercises to practice Adverbial Clauses of Condition.

3.Review and teach the new words and read the passage.

Step 2 Presentation

1.The teacher asks the students to know about more information about the bicycles by reading 1a.

2.Play the flash of 1a. Learn the main language items in it.

3.Students tick the rules that bicycle riders should know.

4. Students read the passage and find out the topic sentence for each paragraph. Finish 1b.

5. Students check the answers.

6. Students match the topic sentence with each paragraph based on the activity above, and then write a title for the passage of 1a.

7. Students learn and grasp the new words with the help of the teacher.

Step 4 Consolidation

1. Asks the students to retell the rules that bicycle riders should know.

2. Students read the passage after the recording sentence by sentence.

3. Students discuss in groups to find out the difficult points and sum up the main points.

4. Students underline in their books and make some notes.

5. Read the first paragraph of 1a, and then answer the question.

6. Read the second paragraph of 1a, and then answer the question.

7. Read the third paragraph of 1a, and then answer the last three questions of 1c.

8.At last let them sum up the main points of the passage.

9. The teacher makes a summary to explain the key points and difficult points to the students.

Step5 Practice

1. Read the words in the box of 2 and the sentences of 2.

2. Students complete the sentences with the correct forms of the words in the box.

3. Students talk about the pictures with the given phrases in groups.

4. Students tick the ones that bicycle riders should do and cross the ones the shouldn’t do.

5. Students write down the sentences with the given words according to the pictures.
