教学过程

Step 1 Lead in

Discuss the following questions:

(1)When is Thanksgiving Day in the U.S.?

(2)Do you know why they celebrate Thanksgiving Day?

(3)How to celebrate Thanksgiving?

设计意图: 通过对Thanksgiving的介绍和对问题的讨论,让学生对Thanksgiving有进一步的了解,既活跃了课堂气氛,又达到了引入本课的目的,同时提高了学生的口语表达能力,为课后写作打下基础。

Step 2 New words and phrases:

) hug n.and v. 可作可数名词,相关短语:give sb. a big hug 例:They greet each other with _______ ________.他们相互拥抱致意。

)gathering n. 聚会,集会 动词形式为 gather . gather 作不及物动词,意为“聚集” 相当于短语get together. 例:A crowd _________to watch the show.

设计意图: 让学生识读和了解单词及相关的短语基础上加以举例,更有利于学生在实际应用中掌握其用法。

Step 3 Find the past tense of the verbs of the text and write out verb stem (动词原形) thepast participle of them.

设计意图:让学生学会观察和总结动词的过去式和过去分词(规则和不规则),进而加深对一般过去时这种时态了解并掌握。

Step 4 Listening?

Listen to the text and tick the correct answers:
