Step 1 Lead in
Discuss the following questions:
(1)When is Thanksgiving Day in the U.S.?
(2)Do you know why they celebrate Thanksgiving Day?

设计意图： 通过对Thanksgiving的介绍和对问题的讨论,让学生对Thanksgiving有进一步的了解,既活跃了课堂气氛,又达到了引入本课的目的,同时提高了学生的口语表达能力,为课后写作打下基础。
Step 2 New words and phrases:
) hug n.and v. 可作可数名词，相关短语：give sb. a big hug 例：They greet each other with _______ ________.他们相互拥抱致意。
)gathering n. 聚会，集会 动词形式为 gather . gather 作不及物动词，意为“聚集” 相当于短语get together. 例：A crowd _________to watch the show.
