Step 1: Warming-up:

Show the students an e-mail from my student, Tan Le. He has some trouble in studying English. The students and I will work together to find out Tan Le’s problem.

Step 2: Presentation:

1. Show them the new words and phrases by using some sentences.

2. Train them to know the meanings of the words and phrases from the context, with the help of word-building and some pictures.

3. Use the skimming way to read the text. Students can know the main idea just by reading three parts: the title, the first paragraph, the last paragraph. And after skimming, let the students try to predict what the story is about.

4. Read the text for the second time with the method of scanning. The students just need to read the questions first and try to find out the direct information related to these“W” “H” questions.
