Step1.Analysis of the book.(教材分析)
本单元主要围绕围绕“植物”展开话题，教材为学生创设了各种关于植被、园艺的情景，帮助学生用英语进行园艺等活动，进而培养学生保护环境、爱护植被的意识。
Step2.Analysis of the student.(学生分析)
八年级学生对于英语已经有了一定的基础，而且本课是关于植物的重要性，学生对于植物并不陌生，本课是本单元第二课，学生对于植物话题已经简单提到过。但是学生英语基础薄弱，学生在学习中还存在许多问题。不能在英语学习中灵活运用知识，所以课堂中老师应尽可能多的运用多种教学方法来引导学生学习。
Step 2. Lead in.（引入）
1.Greet the students in English and make sure they can response correctly.
Show some pictures of the trees and plants about our scool.
Homework check.
Review: In last lesson, we learned that how to plant trees, and we knew that the trees were important for us.
2.Think About It: Why do we need plants?
Step 3. New lesson.（新课）
Dictate the words and phases of lesson 8,and finish Let’s do it 2 ask a student to expound this question
Play the listening material for Lesson 8.Play it once and ask the students just to listen.
Play the audiotape a second time and ask the students to complete the exercise.
Check the answers as a class and correct any false statements
3.Text:Give them some time to read the text themselves. Then let them act out the dialogue in groups. Correct their pronunciation when necessary.
