⑴听力（10分钟）
Listen to the tape and answer the questions
1. How many continents and oceans does the world have?
2. Can you tell something about the world’s population?
⑵阅读（20分钟）
Give them some time to read the text themselves. Correct their pronunciation when necessary .
Students work in groups and talk about the main idea of each paragraph.
Read the text again and check the answers. Let the students discuss the main idea of the passage in details. At last,the teacher explain the text in Chinese,make sure the Ss can understand the meaning of text.

One third 三分之一。分数的结构：分子用基数词，分母用序数词，分子大于一时，分母用复数形式。三分之二应为 two thirds
