 思路二:本课的教学内容是冀教版九年级英语第四单元的第23课,主要以“巨人”为题,将Lesson 22的故事情节补充完整。通过一个小测试导入本课,锻炼学生的独立思考能力。以学生感兴趣的竞争方式开篇,充分调动学生的学习积极性。

 教师在课前设计教学PPT,准备录音机和磁带,多媒体等。

 Leading in 【情景1】

 The teacher shows a picture of a beautiful garden,and then talks with the students.

 T:What did the giant see when he jumped out of his bed?

 S1:Maybe there is no longer winter in his garden.

 S2:Maybe there are some flowers in his garden.

 S3:Maybe there are some birds singing.

 Ask several students to respond.

 T:What happened to the garden in the end?

 S4:I think maybe the giant will get along well with the kids.

 T:OK.You are smart.Now let’s begin the other part of the story.

 T:Good morning/afternoon,class.Before we begin reading the second half of“The Giant”today,I’d like to test your knowledge about stories and poems.

 (3)What is the difference between a fable and a fairy tale?

 T:Well done.Now let’s read the text and find out what really happens.

 The teacher shows the new words on PPT.Ask students to try to read these words.The students follow the teacher three times.Then give the students five minutes to remember the words.Let students spell and read them one by one.
