Students’ activities

Purpose

Step1

Pre-listening

1. Greetings.

2. Show them the title today“Happy Birthday”.Ask them what words and phrases about birthday they will think. Such as : have a party, make a wish and so on.

3. Ask them a question: If you want to give somebody a gift, what should you know? Then ask them to learn and read the key words about “Interests”.

4. Have them label the pictures with the key words. Then check the answers with the teacher.

5. Let students do the exercises to consolidate the words.

6. Help them to say out the other interests. Such as cooking, fishing, riding a bike and so on.

2.Li 1. Look and take a brainstorm, then say out the words or phrases about birthday in Chinese or English.

2. Answer the question, read and learn the words about interests.

3. Label the pictures with the key words and check.

4. Do exercises to consolidate words.

5. Look and read the other words and phrases about interests.

通过头脑风暴,激发学生学习兴趣。

如果基础不好,可说中文。

了解一些有关生日的单词。

通过这一提问,引到第一部分重点词。复习表兴趣的6个单词。

将兴趣与图片对号入座。

练习巩固6个单词。

使学生尽快回忆起其它初中和小学学过的表示兴趣爱好的词。

While-listening

1. Show students a picture about Helen’s family and ask them some questions.

Can you see the old woman?

Can you see the girl?

What are they doing?

2. Have students listen to the dialogue the first time and answer the question: What does Grandma like? Make them tick the boxes.
