Step I. Warming-up.

1.Sing a song:

(设计意图:通过演唱英文歌曲活跃课堂气氛,吸引学生的注意力,并极力为学生创设英语学习氛围。)

2. Play a game. (Look at the pictures and say them as quickly as you can.)

(设计意图:复习上节课学过的衣服单词,利用句型What’s this/What are these? This is a… These are…,为接下来形容衣服的新与旧打好基础。)

Step II. New concepts.

1. Teacher introduces two books to the students, then guide students to learn the words “new” and “old”.

(设计意图:用一本新书和一本旧书导入新课Lesson2 New and Old)

2. Show the picture and learn the words “new” and “old”

(设计意图:先通过图片学习单词“new” and “old”。然后引出短语a new sweater 和an old sweater. 然后练习句型,通过练习使学生掌握句型。)

This is a new sweater

This is an old sweater.

3. Ask students to answer the question “Is it new or old ? ”

(设计意图:通过Is it new or old?句型,进一步练习“new” and “old”。

4. Ask one student to introduce “old trousers” and “new trousers”

(设计意图:通过小组互问互答的形式练习,让学生掌握句型。)

5. Ask students to finish Part Two.

(设计意图:看书讨论每幅图的新旧问题,指导学生怎样写句子。先在空格里填写匹配的单词,再写句子。)

6. Read the text and then read in different roles.

7. Show the questions, let students watch the video and answer the questions.

(1). Is Jenny’s skirt new?

(2). What’s Kim’s favourite clothes?
