T: Look at these words, how to plus “ing” after these words?

There are three rules, what are they? Can you find out?

Ask the Ss to find out the rules

A. 1+1=2 e.g. play plus ing equals playing drawing

B. Deleting the silent e, then plus ing. E.g. having dancing

C. Double the last letter. E.g. swimming running

4. Practice

Now let’s make a turntable with the words. 5’

Use guessing game to practice the present participle.

A. You say start, I will start. You say stop, I will stop.

Can you say the sentences?

B. Who can help me to start the turntable?

Which sentence do your groups want to choose? Please write it down on your paper. Then read it together with your group members.
