V Teaching Procedure:

Step 1 warm-up

Activity 1 daily greeting(I will act like the main role in the story-Zip. And say hello or other salutations to the students.)

Activity 2 sing a song and dance with me. The name of the song is Finger Family.Ask the students follow me to present the finger dance with their hands and bodies.

Step 2 pre-reading

First of all, I will review some occupations And act them out. Let the students guess what are they. Then list some other occupations to the students. Let them know the meaning of the words from pictures and videos. Then the teacher teaches them the new words phrases. Such as: football player, baseball player and taxi driver.

I will use some TPR (total physical response) to ask students to

Guess what are they.

Purpose: the purpose of this step is to form a better English learning surrounding for the Ss, and the same time, it provides situations to review learned knowledge for the next step.

Then, i will ask the students to guess how many people are there in my family? The answer will be announced later. Which team get the right answer they can get a chance to play the Minesweeper game. As the main role in the story, i should invite the students to go my home. And watch a video together.That is to make the students go my home with the guidance of the video. Some important family members and information will be involved.)

Purpose :the purpose of this part is to present the story.let the students be familiar with the story even though they don’t know some new sentence patterns. It can help the Ss understand the language easily and naturally with the help of the video.

Step 3 while-reading

①Listen the CD or tape the first time carefully. Then answer several questions. such as: What’s my father’s job? What my uncle’s job? ect. The students will use their body moving to express yes or no.

②watch the video the second time carefully. Then fill in the finger family on the blackboard. Then introduce the family members to the students. Use “This is a photo of my father.””This is a photo of my uncle.”....to conclude “These are photos of my family.”

③role-play: the first time, teacher to students. The second time, students to students.

Purpose : this part will help the students get a better understanding of the story from listening, watching, reading, judging and information sorting. Ect. The students will get the interest from body moving answer and video watching. The last information sorting part can help the students grasp the story completely.

Step 4 post-reading

In this step , I will give Ss a free space to show their family members.

First I will show my family members to the students with my hand and ask the students do some quick answer about my family, and then let them make the production by themselves.

Task-based teaching method and communicative language teaching method are used here.
