VI. Teaching procedures

Pre-reading

Step 1. Lead-in

First show students some pictures and lead in the topic---western festivals. Then play a video, and after students watch the video, make them answer the question:

What is the festival?

In this way, I show the topic--Halloween to students.

设计意图:开场展示图片,导入节日主题。再播放有关万圣节的视频,引起学生对本节课所学内容的关注。视频内容的直观性,能更好地调动学生的积极性,创造良好的课堂氛围。继而通过提问,引出本课主题--Halloween。

Step 2: Presentation

Tell students that yesterday my friend sent me some pictures about Halloween.Would you like to have a look? Show some pictures to students and teach them some new words and phrases. Such as masks, dress up, and pumpkin lantern.

设计意图:以图片的形式,呈现部分与课文相关的生词、词组。图片的直观性,便于学生理解生词、词组的意思,让学生为下一阶段学习做好知识储备。

While -reading

Step 3. Fast reading

Ask students the question: are you ready to learn more about Halloween? Then present the article. Let students pay attention to the format of the letter.

Show the Students two questions .

1)When is Halloween?

2)What game do they play on Halloween?
