2’1. Watch a video before class.

2. Talk about the video and lead in.

T: Boys and girls, before class we watched a video, what’s it about? Do you know the name of this song? We’ve learnt lots of festivals around the word in Unit 5. Let’s review them today.

Answer the questions and try to get familiar with the topic they are going to talk about.

4’1. Review the names of the festivals.

T: I will show you some pictures. Look at them and try to remember them. Then tell me the names of the festivals. Let’s see who has a good memory.

Look at the pictures one by one and say out the festivals together. Talk about the festivals.

T: We Chinese celebrate the four festivals on the left. So they’re Chinese festivals. What about these festivals? Who celebrates them? Most western families celebrate them. So they are Western festivals. Among the festivals, which festival do you like best? Why do you like it? What do you usually do on that day?

1. Ss look at the picture and answer the teacher’s questions.

2. Review the usage of wh-questions.

T: Pay attention to the three words. Which, why, what are question words. These three sentences are wh-questions. We use wh-questions to ask for information about someone/ something.

①Review eight question words.

T: Besides the three words, do you know any other question words?

②Complete the table according to the meanings and translate some sentences into English.

③Review some more question words.
