Designing aims

Step1 Introduce myself

When I introduce myself, an introduce joke is made. It shows my sense of humor. The students will keep interested in this class.

通过幽默的自我介绍,营造出轻松的课堂氛围,让学生喜欢课堂从喜欢老师开始

Step2 Words Review

Encourage some students to read the words in the passage as a little teacher.

复习环节,让学生充当小先生领读单词,并进行单词的互查,展示“小先生制”教学理念

Step3 Lead-in

Show two pictures of me about DIY. Ask them : do you think I am good at DIY ? Ss: Yes, of course. T: What about Andrew ?

呈现两张对比强烈的图片,突出自己DIY的能力,由此引入课文主人公Andrew.

Step4 Reading

1. Task1: Read the passage, find out the information about the 4 stories of Andrew, including purpose, problem and reason.

2. Task2: Read and think, then finish Exercise B 2.

对文章细节进行表格化,有利于学生对内容的理解。

Step5: Retell the 4 stories of Andrew with the key words.

Give ss some key words about the 4 stories, and encourage them to retell each story according to the key words.

由于文章是由4个小故事构成,通过关键词的提示作用,让学生利用关键词为主线尝试复述故事。

Step 6: Learn the structure of the passage.

Work in the group and try to tell what each paragraph talks about, find out the structure of the passage.

通过小组讨论,理清文章的结构。

Step 7: Language points

1.According to the structure of the passage, the article is divided into two parts. All the students are divided into two parts too. The language points should be found out after discussing in groups.

2. Some volunteers will be asked to show the language points. The teacher will use the computer to write down the points in words.

3. Do some exercises about the language points which are from the examination papers for senior middle school in different cities in Jiangsu Province.

4. Finish the exercises in the textbook, B 4. The answers should be checked by students.

通过对文章结构的划分,把全文氛围两部分。6个小组分别对两部分的知识点进行梳理,然后在全班面前汇报自己的收获。

本环节可以锻炼学生的合作意识,同时检验了学生对课文重点知识的把握。由学生讲解知识,体现了小先生制的教学思想。

Step 8 Show time

1. show some questions about DIY , Andrew and the students on PPT. the questions will be asked by teacher. And encourage the students to ask more similar questions.
