Teaching steps
Step1: Greeting
Greet the students.
Step 2: Lead-in
T: Boys and girls! In Unit 3, we’ve talked about the topic “How do you get to school?” Could you tell me how you get to school every day?
Ss:Yes.
T: Good . Let’s do an interview.
Ask a student to be a reporter and interview 3-4 students about how they get to school.
S1:I ride my bike to school .
S2: I get to school by bus.
….
T:There are many ways to get to school. Do you think it’s easy to get to school?
Ss: Yes.
T:But it’s very difficult for some students in small villages to get to school. Do you want to know something about that?
Ss:Yes.
T: How do they get to school? Let’s watch a video.
After watching the video, ask the students to answer the question “How do they get to school?”
S5: They get to school by “溜索,索道”.

Step 3: New words
Show some pictures and students learn the new words one by one. Then get two students to read the new words and other students repeat after them.
Step 4: Activity 2a
Get the students to look at the picture and title below. Guess what the passage is about. Ask a student to guess.
Step 5: Activity 2b——Read and answer.
Show the following questions on the screen and ask students to go through the questions. Then listen to the recording and write down the answers. Give them 3 minutes to do this activity. They can discuss with their partners. Three minutes later, invite some students to answer the questions one by one.
