Step 1: Lead-in

1. Have a free talk about the May Day holiday:

(1) How was your May Day holiday?

(2) Did anyone go travelling?

2. The teacher talks about her travelling plan for the coming summer holiday—travelling in the UK.

Step 2: Presentation and practice

1. Present pictures and hints. Revise manners in the UK from the four aspects:

(1) How do British people greet each other?

(2) How do British people start a conversation?

(3) How do British people behave in public?

(4) How do British people behave at home?

2. Learn about key language points in the text and do corresponding exercises.

(1) shake sb’s hand= shake hands with sb (shake-shook-shaken)

完成下列句子:

①他走上前来同我握手。

He came up to me and __________________________.

(2) greet… with… 以…方式问候…
