Step 1 Lead in
1.Have a free talk with students about how they get in touch with their old friends.
2. Thinking questions with pictures: When you can’t work out the maths problem, when you try to get the meaning of an English sentence, when you need information for the trip to Australia, what will you do?
3. Lead in Internet.
Step 2 Presentation
1.Brainstorming: We can use the Internet to...
2.Watch a piece of short video and finish part 2 on page 72, get the main idea of the passage.
3.Try to get more ways of using the Internet, know the meaning of Internet+.
Read the passage again and learn the following words: search engine, instant messaging, download, chat room, keyword, link, website, credit card.
Step 3 Practice—Group work
1. The test of Students’ reading comprehension.
2. Interview: Interview the members in your group about what they use the Internet to do and how they do so.
Step 4 Discussion
1. Discuss about the disadvantages of the Internet by watching a video.
2. Talk about what we should do and what we shouldn’t do on the Internet.
3. The safety rules on the Internet.
Step 5 Homework
1.Practise the knowledge we learnt in this period.
2.Retell the passage.

围绕话题选择的视频，开展的小组竞赛及采访、对话等活动，有助于学生的自主学习，交流充分，阅读策略和技巧在各个环节都得到了一定地培养和训练。讨论部分给予学生的时间偏少，学生呈现的内容不够丰富。学生的回答应更及时地给予评价。
