Step1: Brainstorming.

In this Unit, we talk about types of TV programmes. Let’s play a game to check who has a good memory. Look and try to remember as many programmes as you can.

What TV programme(s) do you like (dislike)? Why?

How much time do you spend watching TV every week?

Suppose you are a reporter from HATV. Have an interview with your friend to learn TV programmes.

Just now I knew some of your TV viewing habits. I know what you like and dislikes and the time spent watching TV every week. Here is some information about another three students. Millie is interviewing them. Read it and guess about their TV viewing habits.

According to the information, what can we guess? Yes, what programmes does he or she like? We also know their grades, as we all know, the time spent watching TV depends on the free time we have. So we can guess Anita has the most time to watch TV of the three, and Philip can spend more time watching TV than Sam because Sam is a Grade 9 student.

Listen carefully and complete the notes.

If you need to make some notes. you just need to write down the long information in short while listening to save time. e.g. write down “2.5h” instead of “two and a half hours”.
