*about 85% of Ss will be able to identify and understand Attributive clauses with that, which and who; ( Knowledge)

*about 80% will be able to make simple Attributive clauses with that, which and who; ( Abilities)

*80% of Ss will be able to master some listening strategies such as predicting contents by reading the questions before listening, using their general knowledge to think of possible answers, trying to get the general idea and take notes while listening. ( Listening strategies )

*more than 90 % of Ss will have a basic awareness of appreciating works of art. ( Culture and Emotion )

Teaching aids: PPT

Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Lead-in

1. Greetings

2. Teacher asks Ss what they think is the best way to relax. Such as watching a movie, doing sports, reading a book, listening to music …

3. Teacher asking Ss, “What kind of movies/books/bands do you prefer? Then ask Ss to do 1a and the answers will vary.

Purposes: to introduce Ss to the topic;

Step 2 Pre-listening

Make a guess

T may want to lead in to the activity by asking Ss to describe what they see in the picture. Prompt Ss to guess the relationship between the two people. Draw their attention to the chart and have Ss work in pairs to predict the answers. These predictions may be written on a separate piece of paper and checked against the actual answers after activities 1b and 1c are completed.

Purposes: to give Ss listening practice in the target language used in natural speech.

Step 3 While-listening

1. Play the recording twice to finish 1b. T can tell Ss to take some notes while listening.

2. Play the recording for the third time to fill in chart in 1c. If necessary, T can play it again to help Ss complete the task.

3. Check the answers.

Purposes: to give Ss practice in listening for specific information.

4 Post-listening

Activity 1d

Ask two Ss in pairs to imitate the conversation in 1d

Teacher encourages Ss to talk about other subjects like clothes, food, hobbies, etc. T can make individualized requirements for different levels of Ss.

Purposes: to give Ss opportunity to use the target language to talk about things they like.

Step 5 Extension (optional)

Make a survey

Teacher asks Ss in pairs to make face-face Interviews to learn about their preferences, then lets them present the results of the survey using Attributive clauses with that, which and who.

Purposes: to consolidate and improve Ss’ comprehensive skills.
