Step1 Warm-up
Greet the whole class as usual.
Step2 Lead-in (2mins)
Brainstorming : Revise the nouns that students have learned (pencil,book,dictionary,pen,key ,ruler...etc) let students look and speak with the flash words cards,
For example:
T : Class! Look at each picture that I will show you and say the word that each picture stands for.
2、Revise “What’s this ? It is a/an....”
T: Do you know what these things are ? Look at the first one.
What’s this in English?
Ss: It’s a pen/an eraser.
S1: What’ this in English ?
S2: It’s a/an...... .
Step 3 Present the new words
Teacher show the new words by using the pictures of the Multimedia, let students work in pairs to study new words and correct the students’ pronunciation with pictures.
1. Present the furniture
T: Look at the big picture on the screen. This is a big nice room. I want to own such a room. Because there is some nice furniture in it. Do you know the names of the furniture?
(Show a picture of a bed and a sofa .)
T: What’s this? It’s a bed. “BED”. Read after me. B-E-D, bed.
Ss: B-E-D, bed.
