Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Lead-in

There are more than 200 countries in the world . Some are very rich as America,Japan,Sweden and so on.But some are very poor, such as Nigeria.Life in developing countries and developed countries is different in many aspects, such as education, living conditions, and public service.Today we’ll talk about the topic:developing counties and developed countries.

Step 2 Reading

As we all know, there are two kinds of countries in the world. If the country is rich ,we call it a developed country .if the country is poor ,we call it a developing one.Now what’s the difference between them?Let’s learn the text , the human development report will give the difference between them.

Fast reading :

Read through the passage quickly and silently to get the main idea and write the names of the countries blow after a while ,call back the answers and explain if necessary.

Careful reading:

Read through the text carefully and silently to get more details and find the answers to the question.after a while ,call back the answers and explain if necessary.

Language points:

Go through the passage together with the class to explain some language points

Post reading

Read through the text individually and silently to understand it better and then complete the chart with figures from the passage. After a while, call back the answers and explain if necessary.

Step 3 Consolidation

Read through the passage,and fill the blanls in pairs.

Step 5 Summary and Homework

Summarize what we have learned

Discuss what we can do to help the developing countries.
