Teaching key points and difficulties:
The vocabulary about qualities of a good friend and expressions about relationships;
The way of introducing friends and friendship;

Teaching procedures:
Step 1. Pre-writing
Lead-in
The teacher shows a piece of Chinese poem by Wang Wei in the version of English to students and lets them guess which Chinese poem it is. Then the topic “Friendship” will be led.
Listening
The teacher shows a passage about the friendship between two girls--Liao Mei and Wang Chaosu. Then students listen the passage and fill in the blanks.
The teacher asks one students to check the answers
Speaking
According to the vocabulary and phrases in the listening part, the teacher asks students which words or phrases are about personalities and which expressions belong to relationship.
To dig out more words about qualities of a good friend.
The teacher interviews three students to talk with them about friendship. There are three questions：Q1. What qualities do you think are important for a good friend？
Q2. When you are in trouble, will your friend help you?
Q3. If your friend hurt you, will you forgive him or her?
During the process, the teacher will guide students to speak more words about qualities of a good friend and the teacher will write down these words on the blackboard, such as, enthusiastic, outgoing, open-minded, and so on. Then the teacher will show more words about qualities on PPT for students to study.
The way of talking about friendship.
1)The teacher shows a picture of her good friend and her and introduces their friendship through an article. Then students read the article together.
2) The teacher guides students to analyze the structure of the passage and good expressions used in it.
3) Do a summary about the way of introducing a friend and the relationship between two good friends.
