Step = 1 ﹨ ROMAN ﹨ MERGEFORMAT I . Lead-in

The teacher plays a song called Way back into love where the structure of present perfect continuous tense appears many times to arouse students' interest in this grammar.

Step = 2 ﹨ ROMAN ﹨ MERGEFORMAT II . Presentation

At first, ask students to underline the structure of present perfect continuous tense in 5 sentences and then summarize the correct forms of present perfect continuous tense in different sentence patterns. Then the teacher shows the students some sentences and ask them to discover the characteristics of the present perfect continuous tense.

Step III. Conclusion

Ask students to find the meaning and function of present perfect continuous tense according to what the teacher explained.

Step I = 5 ﹨ ROMAN ﹨ MERGEFORMAT V . Practice

Task 1: Show students some interesting pictures and ask them to describe the pictures with tip words by using Present Perfect Continuous Tense.

Task 2 : play a game “ guess who they are?”

Task 3: group work

First play a video of “My dream, Chinese dream”and then ask every group leader to interview his/ her group members about his or her dream. Then every group leader reports his or her group members' dreams to the other students.

Ask students to compare present perfect continuous tense with the present perfect tense by referring to some reference books.
