Teaching steps:

Step 1 Lead-in

Lead in the class by revising the music styles we have learnt.

Ask students to think how do you feel when you listen to music. Hence the topic comes out.

Step 2 listening and expressing.

Play classical music and pop music and ask them to express their feelings.

I enjoy/like/dislike listening to …

I am crazy about/ am fond of …

Ask students to share their emotions with us, using sentence patterns we’ve already learnt.

Lead students to express feelings in different ways.

1. Listening to … makes me feel very ...

2. I always feel so optimistic when I hear ...

3. I adore listening to…

4. I can’t love it more.

5. I can’t stand listening to ....

6.This is the last song in the world that I would like to listen to.

4. Play hip-hop and fold songs, ask students to talk about their emotions with the new sentence patterns.

Show students some familiar pairs of adjectives to consolidate the use of adjectives with “ing” and “ed”. Ask students to make similar sentences.
