Teaching Plan

Analysis of the material :

English teaching in Senior High school emphasizes the importance of developing students’ ability of using language and the way of thinking in English.The composition of contrast belongs to the argument,which trains students’ logical thinking and critical thinking.

Analysis of the students:

The students come from Grade 2, who have gotten the the general idea of writing this kind of composition, and are familiar with the structure of subjunctive mood in if-clause. However, some students have confusion of using the transitions or the pattern of writing the composition of contrast. Some students can’t use subjunctive mood in if-clause properly to raise the highlights in the composition. Therefore, the aim of the lesson is to help students to solve their confusion above.

Teaching Aims:

Knowledge Aims:

1.To review the structures of the Subjunctive Mood in if-clauses and use them to express their ideas

2.To practise writing the contrast of composition using the proper pattern, transitions and proper forms of subjunctive mood in if-clause.

Ability Aims:

1.To improve students’ ability of expressing their ideas

2.To train students’ logical thinking and critical thinking

Emotional Aims:

To show their beautiful wish in the subjunctive mood in if-clause

To raise students’ interest of using critical thinking and logical thinking
