1. Knowledge aims:

After reading the whole passage several times, students are supposed to:

To recognize and use the new words, phrases and structures in the play .

To retell the basic structure and features of a play.

2.Ability aims:

To read and act out the play with correct emotion, pause and pronunciation.

To make out their new plays according to what they will learn today.

3.Emotional aims:

To establish the right attitudes towards conflicts and misunderstandings between children and parents.

To come up with the correct methods to solve these problems

Part3: Teaching important & difficult points

Key points: The focus of the lesson is to help the students totally get familiar with the characteristics of a play and learn to analyze the emotions of each character from the instructions of the play.

Difficult points: The most challenging part of the lesson should be how to try to come up with the correct methods to solve the problems and create a good relationship with parents.

When teaching English, I always try my best to carry out the following theory: Make Ss the real masters in class while I act as a director. Just as Benjamin Franklin put it ,“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” After analyzing the teaching material and my students, to achieve my goal I`ll adopt the following teaching methods:

Step 1 Pre-reading

Task 1: Lead-in

At the beginning of the class, I will lead in the topic by presenting a picture from a popular TV show Home With Kids and play the Video of the movie Home Alone. Then ask students to answer what the TV show mainly talks about. What’s the name the movie? What’s the Chinese meaning of home alone?
