VI. Teaching procedure
Step 1: Warming up
Teacher greets Ss
Presents students pictures to elicit ‘smoggy’ and words ‘蓝瘦’、 ‘香菇’.
Have students list more words so as to introduce the topic
Step 2: Pre-reading
Have students pay attention to the reading strategy of getting ‘information at first sight’ and have them find out the three kinds of English discussed in the article.
Step 3: While-reading
TASK 1- Old English: What happened? (Group work)
( Play a short video, introducing something about Old English. After watching, have students answer the question-‘How many groups invaded England? What are they?’
