Before class

Home work: Have students research the Internet for information to have a basic knowledge of Changshu

Play a video about Changshu during break time

While class

Step 1 Warming-up

Guess Game

Have one student describe something about Changshu; the rest of class guess what it is.

Step 2 Speaking

Motivate the students to make a discussion about a travel plan.

Check students’ homework and invite one student to talk about different means of transportation when travelling to Changshu

Step 3 Listening

Test the students’ ability to choose a suitable means of transportation by listening

Encourage students to compare the information about different means of transportation and have more able students give their reasons for choices
