Step 1: Lead-in
Q: What colours do you know?
Present some pictures of colours: red, blue, yellow, white, black and orange.
Encourage students to name its’ colour as soon as they see the picture.
A little more difficult activity.

3. yellow and red make _______
4. red, blue and yellow make ______
5. red and white make ________
6. white and black make _______
7. black and orange make________
Q: What colour will you get if mix _____and ______?
I take the first one as an example to show students the intention of this activity----to have a better understanding of colour.
In this section, I need painting materials: paint, palette, paintbrushers, and water. And then, I invite one student to come to the front to mix the white and black.
Step 2: Presentation
Show two kinds of colour---- darkblue and lightblue to introduce the concept of shade.
Task 1------Individual work
Match the words in the box with the objects in Part D on Page 39.
lemon 柠檬(色) sea green(海绿色)
chocolate 巧克力(色) rose 玫瑰(色)
olive green 橄榄(色) cherry 樱桃色
Look at the pictures on the screen and tell the colour of them to have a brief revision.
