Teaching key points and difficulties:(教学重难点)

1. The making methods of unusual pictures ;

2.Group work of making an unusual picture and the presentation in class .

The analysis of this period and the students:(教材和学生分析)

1. This project is meant to make students master the ways of creating unusual pictures and apply what they’ve learnt to making an unusual picture by group work and give presentation eventually, which can train and improve all students’ listening ,reading ,speaking ,writing and watching abilities and encourage their hand-working abilities as well.

2. Though my students major in art , they are just at the dawn of it ,so it’s a bit challenging and difficult for students to make an unusual picture by themselves. Besides , as rural students, they are poor in English ,whether spoken English or written English. Therefore, there is a great chance that the students can arouse their enthusiasm in art and strengthen learning efficiency by participating in these learning activities actively . More importantly, they can develop their critical thinking and teamwork.

Teaching methods: (教学方法)

1.Reading , discussing and task-based teaching methods;

2.Individual work or group work.

Teaching aids:(教学辅助用具)

1.some pictures drawn by students themselves ;

2. a picture made by a former art graduate;

3. two cross-stitches made by me ;

4.some materials for making unusual pictures;

5. a cultural display wall.

Task-based teaching procedures:

Lead-in

Enjoy three pictures together, the first two drawn by students ,one is sketch ,the other watercolour. The third one is also watercolour , more colourful and better compared with theirs in order to inspire them to become as excellent as them and introduce commonly used materials.

Then show them a video about sand paintings and two stitches made by me to introduce unusual pictures .
