Designing intention: This activity is designed to activate students’ schema in a straightforward way. They have some relevant knowledge hidden in their memory waiting to be activated. With the two questions, students can have an impression about a review easily. Moreover, their existing background knowledge is activated and attention is drawn to the topic.

Designing intention: This activity is designed to help students to have a better understanding of the structure of Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone so that they can infer that a film review should include three parts: introduction, body and conclusion. And the introduction part should be made up of main characters and plots. The body part is about the authors comments and opinions and the conclusion part will tell readers whether the film is recommended or not. I intend the information of Emma to inspire students to enjoy reading more and follow her example to be better.
