Teaching process:

Step 1 Warming-up

The teacher will show students a picture of building a house to make them focus on the lesson. The teacher will ask students the following questions.

What can you see from the screen? Why do I choose this picture?

Step 2 Lead-in

The teacher will show students pictures of building. The students will be asked to tell the development of a text together. Then the teacher helps focus students’ attention on the importance of the beginning paragraph by using two pictures. One picture is about builders who are laying the foundations. The other one is about an old saying “A good beginning is half done”.

Step 3 Writing the first draft of a beginning paragraph

The teacher asks the students to write the beginning paragraph of a text titled “E-commerce, an ever-increasing trend in China”.

Task1 Students are asked to read and try to understand the information contained both in the chart and characters.
