To practise listening for important words and main facts.

Analysis of Students

After studying five modules, students have been equipped with different learning strategies and accumulated certain vocabulary, which may contribute to their complex ability to express ideas, yet their ability to read and especially listen for specific information still needs to be improved. The topic of name stories in Chinese and English is a good subject for them to exploit their potential all around abilities.

Teaching Key Points:

To talk about name stories in Chinese and English.

To practise reading and writing stories about names.

To practise listening for important words and main facts.

Some students may not know the origin and meaning of western names.
