Therefore, the purpose of this reading text is to help students to have a deep understanding of our excellent traditional culture.

2. Analysis of the students

This class is for senior two students. After nearly two years of study, their overall level of English is good. They have already acquired some basic and problem-solving skills. However, in the usual reading training, it is found that most students do not think deeply enough and pay too much attention to details. From the perspective of vocabulary learning, they have two problems: one is that they tend to find a precise Chinese equivalence for all English vocabulary, neglecting to understand new words in the text; the other is that students generally prefer passive acceptance, which means listening to the teacher's explanation, taking notes and reviewing.
